Board-certified vascular surgeon, Dr. Jamil, specializes in aortic aneurysms/carotid, lower extremity arterial disease, and endovascular surgery. He can be found on staff at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey and Hackettstown Medical Center in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Among his academic expertise, Dr. Jamil serves as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark. It is the oldest school of medicine in New Jersey. Back in 1971, he earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Wanting to further his education, he relocated to the United States to complete his residency in general surgery and his fellowship in vascular surgery at University Hospital in Newark. He was the recipient of the Award of Best Student Teacher in General Surgery from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1977 and the Award of Outstanding Resident Teacher from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1998.
